I am interested in wearing wet look leggings but can’t decide what they look good with. I am not skinny so I need this look to cover my bum and thighs. In my head, I envision using high platforms heels I already own to be used with this style of leggings. Will a shirt dress work with this outfit? Can someone please help?

Dear Jo,
The wet look leggings are not for the fashion faint of heart, as they can be very unforgiving. But if you’ve got the fashion cajones, go for it! We definitely think your platform heels will work with this look, we have seen many a celebrity and fashion ‘it’ girl use the platform heel to her advantage when rocking wet look leggings. To ensure that you feel comfortable with your body in these leggings we suggest a long boyfriend style cardigan for day, which will cover your hips and thighs, but enable you to get more wear out of them during the day. For a night out, we suggest a loose fitting dress, such as a shift or t-shirt style dress, which will play up the contrast of the tight leggings.

I would like to wear some tweed pants for thanksgiving but how would I dress them differently than I would for an office?

Dear Delia,
Tweed is a great fabric but it often gets the label of ‘office only’ attire. In actuality, it really isn’t that hard to wear tweed outside of work hours. We suggest pairing your structured tweed pants with a less structured chiffon or silk blouse; we like the ruffle front style or add a feminine touch with a bow-tie blouse. Accessories are also a good way to make tweed less “officey”. Many people forget to use accessories, especially in their daily dressing for work, so use this to your advantage and accent your tweed pants with a statement necklace, this yea'rs accessory ‘must-have’. Whatever you decide to pair your pants with, make sure you have a little extra room; you’ll need it with all the fixings that come with Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving!

I recently bought some boots, they are a little scrunchy up the leg and come halfway up my calf. I’m a larger woman and I want to tuck my pant legs in the boots to show them off. Is this appropriate and how do I pull it off? When I try it, it makes the rest of the pants look baggy. What am I doing wrong?

Dear Brittnay,
We hope you haven’t been trying to tuck your wide legged pants into your new boots, because you’ll never achieve the desired effect that way. When tucking pants into boots, make sure they have a tapered or skinny leg to avoid the baggy effect you have been seeing. But if you are not comfortable with wearing skinny jeans or tapered pants, may we suggest the other way to wear boots, pair them with a skirt and opaque tights. This might be a better style for your body type as it camouflages problem areas such as hips and thighs but also allows you to show off your new boots without the bulk of tucked in pants!

Dear Margret,
White is always a tricky subject after Labor Day, but winter white can be a nice break from the dark colors we tend to wear this time of year. Margret, it sounds like you are on the right track styling your white ‘boho style’ calf boots. If you plan on wearing them with jeans, we would definitely recommend wearing a skinny jean, in black or a dark indigo wash. There is also the option of wearing leggings or textured opaque wool tights paired with a chunky knit sweater or sweater dress.
