Why can't they make shoes with 3 inch heels or under in fun colors and styles, like the 4 inch heels and higher? Some of us can't walk in high heels but love the styles.

Dear Diana,
With platforms all the rage these days, we do concede that finding fun colors and styles of heels under 4” is near impossible, but it’s not a completely wasted mission. You just have to know what you are looking for. Low heel options such as the mules or kitten heels are a great alternative to the sky-scraping platform. In our quest for the ultimate spring wardrobe we’ve seen super cute and stylish heels that won’t make you wobble down the street.
If you have trouble walking in anything higher than 3” try a wedge, they give more even distribution of weight across the foot, making it a little bit easier to walk. You can also take your higher heels to your local shoemaker where they might be able to cut down the heel, depending on the arch of the shoe.

I have a fuchsia dress I have to wear to a hair show, but I don't know which color shoes to get, silver or black or gold?
-Shulinda (April 8, 2009)

Dear Shulinda,
Those are all great color combos for a fuchsia dress. The best color to choose would depend on what type of event you are attending and what you want your outfit to say about you. The metallics give you a funkier flare but also have the tendency to make a look more formal. Flashbacks of prom immediately come to mind. The prom look will only be further emphasized depending on the type of shoe you decide on wearing, like a strappy sandal. Black, on the other hand, is always classic and safe bet. It makes a strong, bold statement and also works perfectly with fuchsia, contrasting with the brightness of the color and helping to define and ground an outfit. It is also a safer bet since we don’t know what style of shoe you will be wearing.

I’ve seen celebrities wearing cowboy boots for a while now. Are they still stylish and in for spring? Or should I just save them for my trip to the Calgary Stampede this summer?
-Emma (April 8, 2009)

Dear Emma,
Cowboy boots are not just for the country or the Stampede, they can also be perfectly at home in the city. Many runway collections of Spring 2009 were infused with some cowboy flare. The most obvious being Hermes, where models strutted out in thigh-high cowboy boots and Stetsons, the ultimate cowboy hat.
But like many trends, what looks good on the runways can look scary in real life. While we appreciate the cowboy look and do plan to incorporate parts of it into our spring wardrobe (think fringe, suede and denim), we're keeping our boots for the Calgary Stampede, and so should you!

If I wear gaucho pants, what style of shoes can I wear?
-Gina (April 5, 2009)

Dear Gina,
With the warmer weather finally arriving, it’s time to start showing some leg. Gaucho pants and other Capri-style pants can also pose a problem when deciding what shoes to wear, especially when you want to dress them up. As with any short-legged pant there are many options of footwear available. You can wear boots (for those chilly days), booties, pumps, open toe-sandals and wedges. Let you ankles see the light of day with your gaucho or Capri-style pants and an awesome pair of shoes.
