Please can you tell me the latest "in" colors, trends and styles of the season? Thank you.

-ZZ (June 11, 2009)

Dear ZZ,

To learn about the current trends in fashion, check out our Seasonal Trend Reports or our Weekly Hot Picks. We have noticed that khaki (think jungle/safari) and romantic florals and ruffles in nude and muted tones are very popular this season as are the peg legged pant and the jumpsuit. Animal prints and sequins are also all the rage. The dress is one of the easiest fashion choices for summer as are short shorts. When it comes to jewelry, think statement pieces in everything from your necklace, earrings and bracelets. On your feet you should be sporting sky-high platforms and wedges for nightt or colorful flat t-straps sandals with hints of heavy metal details for day. Be sure to sign up for our free Weekly Mailer to stay on top of all the latest trends, colors and styles!

What is the quickest way to lose weight for the summer???

-Amsa (June 6, 2009)

Dear Amsa,

We, along with everybody else, have been scrambling to get into shape for bikini season. The problem is that there isn't a healthy and fast way of shaping up quickly that doesn't require a lot of exercise and very little chocolate and chips!

We have been following a very strict regime of yoga, the gym and healthy eating. Did you know that eating 5-6 small servings of food a day helps to increase your metabolism while skipping a meal actually slows down your metabolism and makes it more difficult for your body to digest food? We suggest eating a lot of vegetables and fruits and only a few small servings of protein and carbohydrates. Some of our favorite small meal options are: kale and potato salad, nuts (almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts) mixed with dried fruit (cranberries, apricots and banana chips) and grilled pineapple slices (a tasty treat during BBQ season).

As for exercise, the warmer temperatures make leading an active life easier. Bike or walk around the city instead of using public transportation, but if that doesn't suit you try something simple like using the stairs and not the elevator. If you are looking for something a little more regimented we would recommend hitting the gym or the local YMCA 3-4 times a week. If weights and an eliptical machine aren't your thing try joining a recreational sports team like ultimate frisbee. For something that is relaxing and challenging and will help to improve tone and flexibility try yoga. We have become addicted to our daily hatha, flow or ashtanga classes.

Just remember that the key to getting fit and looking great is consistency. You have to commit yourself to improving your eating habits and sticking to your workout regime to see and maintain results. Unfortunately there's no quick fix to losing weight. Instead it's all about changing your lifestyle for the long term.

Hi! I know I'm a bit late on this one - but I've been hunting for the perfect boyfriend blazer for quite a while and haven't had much luck yet! I live in Canada (East Coast too) so there are fewer choices of stores around. I'm a bit wary to order a blazer online since I'm not sure about sizing - I'm usually a size small but I have broad shoulders. What are some of the key elements I should look for in a boyfriend blazer - in terms of fit, etc. Any suggestions? I'm hoping to find one under $100... or not much over. Thanks!

-Hilary (June 2, 2009)

Dear Hilary,

A blazer is a stylish wardrobe staple that looks great paired with everything from a pair of jeans to a cocktail dress. The first thing to look for when buying a blazer is the fit. You want to make sure that the armholes start at the natural line of your shoulders and that when closed the jacket front isn't overly tight. Conversely, if you can easily slip more than the width of two fingers between the closed front of the blazer and your body the jacket is too big.

The boyfriend blazer is a little longer and roomier than a regular suit jacket. A quick tip to judge the proper length is to see if the jacket ends at the same place as the knuckle of your thumb when your arms are resting at your sides. Since a blazer plays an important role in your closet make sure that it has a high production value (buttons are attached securely and stitches are strong and even) and is made with sturdy, breathable materials (wool, cotton, cashmere or a nice fabric blend). Be sure to buy one that is at least partially lined as this will add comfort and durability.

If you are looking for something that is $100 or less try Urban Outfitters for boyfriend blazers that won't break the bank. You might also want to check out H&M, they often have a wide variety of blazer styles at affordable prices. Zara is also a great place to shop for blazers and this season they are offering quite a few Stella MacCartney-inspired options. Finally, if you really feel like hunting for that perfect blazer try your local vintage store or Value Village; you may even find something in the men's section.

I have always wanted to know what kind of dresses would work for my body type because nothing seems to work well. I have a REALLY small upperbody and really curvy thighs. I want to know what would look good and suit my style? (I love Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) Thanks :)

-Samantha (May 26, 2009)

Dear Samantha,

If you have a small upper body and really curvy hips and thighs you have what is known as a pear-shaped body type. Here are a few tips on how to dress for your body type:

1) Show off your shoulders! Tops and dresses with a boat neck or a scoop neck will look really flattering on you.

2) Look for A-line skirts and dresses that cinch your waist but flare out over your thighs and bum

3) Give your waist some definition. Try a wide belt cinched at the waist.

4) To give your body a great sense of proportion use details and accessories to draw attention upwards. Create some drama around your neck with a stunning statement necklaces or a beautiful pair of dramatic, dangly earrings. Henley tops and tops with a bib neckline will also look great on you.

5) Avoid bottoms that are very tight or extremely fitted from waist to ankle. We suggest staying away from skinny jeans and trying a pair of wide leg or trouser jeans.

We found a dress at Forever 21 (only $24.80) that mimics Ashlee's plaid dress but will flatter your figure perfectly!
