We don’t know if it’s the recession, the last minute schedule changes or the proximity to the Oscars, but it was hard to spot a Hollywood celebrity in the front row of any show during the Fall 2010 collections at Milan Fashion Week. True, there were a few Hollywood starlets like Lindsay Lohan (she will never make our best dressed list no matter what she wears), Courtney Love (still too much of a mess) and Twilight’s Ashley Greene (although she looked cute enough, there was always something off about her outfit choices), but none of these girls truly warrant the title of best dressed celeb or even a front row seat for that matter. That’s why we looked past the celebrity title and looked to see what Italy’s finest chose to wear while sitting front row. 1) Margherita Missoni – Heiress to the Missoni fashion house (and granddaughter to the house’s founders), Margherita Missoni attended the Vogue.it Milan Fashion Week Womenswear event in a fur vest that we would love to wrap ourselves in. While we could have done without the forehead headband, the overall look still screams fashion royalty!
2) Delfina Fendi (BEST DRESSED) – No, we aren’t awarding Julianne Moore with the title of best dressed celeb this week although she does look sweet here. Instead we’re handing it to jewelry designer and daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi (Fendi’s head of accessories), Delfina Fendi for her ability to master Spring 2010′s hottest trend, military chic, without going overboard. At the Bulgari Chandra event during Milan Fashion Week, Delfina mixed various shades of brown leather (we love her extra long brown men’s belt) and army green to create the best military-esque look we’ve seen all season.
3) Fiammetta Cicogna – Italian cover girl Fiammetta Cicogna appears on our best dressed list twice this week because this girl’s got style! Seen here at the Missoni Fall 2010 show, Fiammetta paired a Missoni mini dress and a slouchy knit hat with the must have hair do of the season – the side braid.
4) Rachel Zoe – Ok, so technically Rachel Zoe is a celebrity, but she actually works in the fashion industry thus warrants a spot in the front row. While attending Fendi’s Fall 2010 collection, Rachel Zoe wore her signature animal print trench but paired it with all black accessories (love the Chanel sunglasses) thereby looking grounded and classy instead of like a cast member fromThe Real Housewives of New Jersey.
5) Fiammetta Cicogna - Once again Italian cover girl Fiammetta Cicogna made our list after wearing a black and white ensemble to the Fendi Fall 2010 show. Her pleated tapered pants looked great with her black leather moto jacket and frilly white blouse that she casually tucked in sans belt. And we really appreciate that she paired her look with a pale pink Fendi purse instead of something black.
