Diane Von Furstenberg’s Striped Bangles for Less

Runway Redux February 4, 2010 @ 9:14 am

Our obsession with bangles has gotten so bad that we can barely get our jewelry drawer closed.  We thought that with the rise of the statement necklace, we’d spend less on bangles.  Not true - especially when designers like Diane Von Furstenberg stack an armload full of candy colored bangles on their models’ wrists for Spring 2010.  Inspired by Diane’s devotion to bangles (and spurred by our need to keep buying more), we fell in love with these candy stripe bangles by Kate Spade. Available at Nordstrom for only $55 a pop, we can’t think of any good reason why we can’t add them to our collection (except that we’ll have to take over a second drawer in our dresser to store our jewelry, oh well!).

How Much Celebrities are Paid to Sit Front Row During Fashion Week

Celebrity February 4, 2010 @ 9:05 am

We always knew celebrities demanded a fee for their appearance at particular events, including fashion week.  Although part of us wanted to believe they were there for their love of fashion, the not-so-naive side of us knew there was a cash transaction taking place.   Fashionista did some digging and discovered just how much certain celebrities are paid to sit front row.  The priciest celeb is Rihanna who commands $100,000 or more to sit front row, with Beyonce and the Olsen twins coming in second and third place with a pricetag of $80,000 each.  The most surprising is how cheap Jennifer Lopez is now ($30,000)  compared with 2005 ($80,000) and the fact that people actually pay Kim Kardashian to attend their show (between $35,000 and $50,000).  Check out the round up of what the A, B and C-list celebs are paid - the numbers will frighten you!

Marc Jacobs to Debut Lingerie in 2011

Stylehog February 2, 2010 @ 10:01 am

We never really expect to receive Valentine’s Day gifts so we’re never too disappointed when we don’t.  But come V-Day 2011, there better be a red shiny bow wrapped around a Marc Jacobs box that is housing a matching bra and panty set designed by MJ himself.  WWD casually mentionned today that Marc Jacobs’ president Robert Duffy has revealed plans to launch a lingerie line for Spring 2011.   Since that tiny detail was in the last sentence of the WWD article, we can’t give you any more information but we’ll keep you posted when more info becomes available.
