Creating A Buzz With A Single Color Choice

It is almost certain death in Hollywood if a celebrity is caught wearing the same outfit at two different events. We would think the same faux pas would apply to wardrobe color (different dress + different premiere = more press). But as we flipped through recent paparazzi pics of Nicole Kidman during her press tour for Australia we noticed that she was a vision in white. Not just at today’s Sydney premiere of Australia but also at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards last week. Both frosty frocks are L’Wren Scott.
We thought Ms. Kidman’s white wardrobe was an anomaly but thinking back we remembered Gwyneth Paltrow’s summer promotion of Iron Man where the leggy blond received a fair amount of attention for her very little LBD’s (Stella McCartney and Balmain, respectively). Perhaps these leading ladies are on to something. Creating a new form of marketing, using monochromatic wardrobes to promote each project to draw more media attention and keep curious bloggers commenting on their wardrobe choices.
