Stella McCartney Fawns Over Bambi

Leave it to Stella McCartney to rewrite the book on fashion advertising. This fall while flipping through your September Vogue (French, Italian and British), in between the 200 or so pages of ads featuring oversexed, underfed models, you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise courtesy of Stella McCartney. Her new Fall 2009 ad campaign (above) features a few of our favorite forest pals, including Bambi, Thumber and their dear, dear friends. “I’m a huge Bambi fan, and the film reminds me of my mum,” McCartney told WWD, referring to the late Linda McCartney. “And we wanted to have some fun. The clothes in the campaign are looking quite fierce, and we wanted to contrast them with the innocence of Bambi,” she added. We have a sudden urge to skip our Monday at the office and head over to Blockbuster to pick up a copy of Bambi. We can always call it research!
