Givenchy’s S/S 2010 Bandage Platform Wedge for Less!

Runway Redux July 7, 2010 @ 6:55 am

Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2010 runway was knocked off by many a fast fashion retailer (Zara in particular had their way with Givenchy’s striped blazer this season), but we’re particularly enamoured with ASOS’ Black Boom leather and stingray wedge sandals ($203).  The resemblance to Givenchy’s bandage wedge is uncanny, however is it wrong to admit we kind of like ASOS’ version better?  Not only are they about a gazillion …

The Flower Corsage Belt As Seen At Rochas Spring 2010

Runway Redux July 2, 2010 @ 10:19 am

We love the idea of DIY projects and sometimes we’re even brave enough to attempt one ourselves.  They usually end with a bag full of unused tools, a bunch of material, glue residue everywhere and one very sad and unfinished DIY project.  So when we spotted Rochas’ flower corsage belt on his Spring Summer 2010 runway we instantly thought DIY! All we need is a brown skinny belt, some fake flowers from the …

The Real Deal – Burberry’s Mixed Metallics for Less

Runway Redux July 2, 2010 @ 9:38 am

For the last few seasons magazine editors, trend reports and stylists alike have been encouraging us to don sequins and metallics during the day whether we’re heading to the office or hitting up the grocery store.  And while we’ve flirted with the idea (we bought a velvet belt from Urban Outfitters last season that was sprinkled with a light dusting of sequins), we’ve pretty much kept our shine to a minimum between the hours of 9 to 5.  However, leave it up to Christopher Bailey’s Spring Summer 2010 collection for Burberry Prorsum to make us think twice about saving our metallics and sequins for after sunset.  His use of shiny metallics, sparkling sequins and trenches with sheen had us wondering why we were so hesitant to shimmer in the first place.  Click through to find out where to get Burberry’s mixed metallics whatever your budget.

The Real Deal – Stella McCartney’s Lingerie Look for Less

Runway Redux June 21, 2010 @ 7:49 am

We’ve seen a few ladies try to master the lingerie look in real life and while we applaud their efforts, their outfits just never looks as natural as the ones we saw on the spring/summer runways.  That’s where Stella McCartney comes in.  Her ability to make lacy lingerie and a blazer look like regular (yet stunningly gorgeous) office wear proves she is a genius in her own right.  To make the look happen for Spring Summer 2010, Stella McCartney started with the basics.  An oversized blazer in a summer friendly color like white, cream, ivory or nude is your first step.  Match that with a pair of pleated cropped trousers in a neutral shade and a solid skinny belt in light grey or beige.  The pièce de résistance of course is your choice of lacy underpinning in a soft, sweet color like nude, rose or pink.  Even though Stella sent model Karlie Kloss down the runway minus the bra, we suggest you stick to a nude bra and/or nude camisole underneath your dainty lace tank.  Finally top off the look with a pair of strappy sandals again in a neutral shade and a raffia clutch (or straw tote for those of you who have to lug around your laptop, gym attire, brown bagged lunch, etc)  and you’ll have mastered the art of lingerie dressing à la Stella McCartney.  Click through to find out where to shop for Stella’s pieces and where to find her look for less.
