Best Dressed Celebs of the Week

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 23, 2009: The 81st Annual Oscar Awards
Penelope Cruz in Vintage Balmain The glitz and glamour were out in full force for the 81st Annual Academy Awards last night.. From the bling of borrowed jewels to the flashes of camera bulbs as the reigning king and queen of Hollywood (Brad and Angelina, of course) made their way down the red carpet.

We saw many leading ladies worthy of Stylehog.com’s title of Best Dressed, but there can only be one winner. And the award goes to (drum roll, please)... Penelope Cruz in vintage Balmain. The cream and gold embroidered dress deserves to be in a museum and will takes its place in history along with those other memorable dresses from Oscar winners gone by. Congrats to Penelope on her best dressed title and her win last night for Best Supporting Actress.
Marion Cotillard in Dior Haute Couture Natalie Portman in Rodarte
  BEST DREAM GIRL
Winning last year for her role in La Vie en Rose, Marion Cotillard is a dream in A midnight blue Dior Haute Couture gown and Chopard jewels.
  BEST COLOR
Finally a starlite who didn't rely on red or cream to get them through Oscar night! Natalie Portman's pinkish Rodarte gown had us blushing with excitement.
Marisa Tomei in Atelier Versace Amy Adams in Carolina Herrera
  BEST CABOOSE
Now that's what we call a train! Marisa Tomei's Atelier Versace dress had folds in all the right places.
  BEST RED CARPET RED
There were many a star in red last night, but Amy Adams in a Carolina Herrera gown and a Fred Leighton statement necklace was our fave.
Tilda Swinton in Lanvin Beyonce in House of Dereon black and gold gown
  BEST TWO-PIECE
Not many ladies can pull off a two-piece on Oscar night, but in Lanvin, Tilda Swinton proved she's no ordinary lady!
  BEST METALLIC
While many might disagree, we love that Beyonce (in House of Dereon) choose a print instead of a solid. She even matched Oscar!
Frieda Pinto in John Galliano Anne Hathaway in Armani
  BEST CROSS-CULTURAL
Freida Pinto effortlessly straddled two cultures last night in a blue lace detailed John Galliano gown
  BEST STATUE
Anne Hathaway may not have taken home a statue last night, but she was absolutely statuesque in Armani Privé
Penelope Cruz Mickey Rourke in Joh Galliano
  BEST PLUMAGE
Nicole Kidman glided on stage to present the award for Best Actress in an ivory L’Wren Scott dress finished with dozens of delicate feathers.
  BEST MALE COMEBACK KID
Even though we rarely discuss men's fashion, we couldn't resist mentionning Mickey Rourke's John Galliano number. We love it!
