WEEK OF JUNE 17, 2009: The 2009 CFDA Awards There's no red carpet more watched amongst the fashion community than the CFDA awards! At the Council of Fashion Designers of America's annual awards ceremony, stuffy Oscar-type dresses are traded in for more exciting and slightly experimental dresses as designers and their muses show off their wares. Since Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy took home the Womenswear Designer of the Year award, it's only natural that our best dressed celeb of the night would be none other than Kirsten Dunst in a Rodarte dress from their Fall 2009 collection. Paired with a funky pair of grey Nicholas Kirkwood sandals, we say the CFDA knew what they were doing when the awarded the design duo with designer of the year.   BEST CORSET Even though we've put our black tights away for the season, Julia Restoin Roitfeld looked hot in this sequined Balmain corset dress and opaque black tights.   BEST THREE WAY We can't decide what we like best on Diane Kruger's Jason Wu dress. Between the bright red color, belted waist and cap sleeves, we love everything about this one!   BEST NECKLINE As usual, Claire Danes looked stunning in this Narciso Rodriquez dress. We almost want to give her the "best chest" award.   BEST METALLIC Despite the troubles at Emanuel Ungaro, Arlenis Sosa rocked this metallic number while embracing designer Esteban Cortazar.   BEST VINTAGE Ashley Olsen showed off her signature quirky style in this vintage floor length dress with slightly elevated shoulders and nipped waist.   BEST NUDE Rachel Zoe was in fine form in this nude Louis Vuitton number. We loved the neutral tone and graceful draping.   BEST CUT-OUT What's black and white and hot all over? Alexander Wang and Dress Hemingway in this cut-out dress by Mr. Wang himself.   BEST BANDEAU Liya Kebede and Balenciaga go hand in hand! We love the dropped neckline and bandeau bra of this Balenciaga dress.   BEST BLACK Lake Bell blew our minds in her Louis Vuitton get up. The shoulders, the pleats, the draping...we're absolutely speechless!   BEST COUPLE Ralph Lauren may have won the Popular Vote of the night but him and his wife Ricky won our vote for best dressed couple of the night.
