When Chanel showed their Spring 2010 collection last October, the word on everyone’s lips wasn’t Prince (who sat front row along with Rihanna) or Lily (as in Allen, who instigated an old fashioned hoedown with her on-stage performance) but clogs (as in the sky-high wooden things models clomped down the runway in). We too couldn’t help but stare in curiosity at the footwear that is more at home in gardens than on the runway, especially when a few weeks later we spotted them at the Joe Fresh Spring 2010 show. And even though we haven’t made up our mind yet on whether our feet will be outfitted in clogs come spring, it’s nice to know we have the option to buy our very own pair on the cheap from Jeffrey Campbell ($126 at Lori’s Shoes). Notice the brass nailhead detail and capped toe – these couldn’t be any more Chanel if they tried!
