If there is any one trend that we can guarantee to make an appearance come spring, floral is it. There is hardly a spring season that goes by without a runway or two devoted to the garden motif and for Spring 2011 that runway was D&G’s. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana entered the Garden of Eden this spring with vintage-inspired floral prints that bloomed across a wide array of maxi dresses, pinafores, tanks and the odd pair of short shorts. Even though D&G wasn’t the only show that focused on florals (Erdem, Jil Sander and Etro all planted their own gardens this spring as well), their’s was by far the most romantic and most themed of the lot. We found a quite a few floral prints already in bloom for spring, all for under $150.
1) Bed of Roses – $52 at Miss Selfridge
We’re dying to to break out Miss Selfridge’s silky rose print top. It’s so proper looking we’re sure to feel like a grown-up whenever we wear it!
2) Heart on a String – $130 at Cynthia Rowley
What’s not to like about Cynthia Rowley’s floral frame heart shoulder bag? It’s cute, compact and is a great way to experiment with mixing and matching different floral prints.
3) Froth & Frill – $90 by Rare at Topshop
Antique floral prints inspired by your nana ruled the runway at D&G, just like they’re ruling this asymmetrical floral dress by Rare at Topshop. Grandma’s oatmeal cookies not included.
4) Flower Power – $60 at Ald0
Carrie Bradshaw may have revolutionized the 3-D flower brooch but Aldo’s “Lovitz” gladiator sandal leads the pack in floral footwear.
5) Garden Party – $10.90 at Forever 21
High-waisted flared jeans or an A-line skirt are a must when wearing Forever 21′s floral bodysuit. Pair with woven platforms, a skinny patent belt and a canvas tote to complete the Garden Party look.
