We haven’t posted anything yet about Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out and we’ll admit the reason is green-eyed jealousy. Yes, we’re jealous because Toronto isn’t participating (there’s no such thing as Vogue Canada) so we’ve been neglecting this piece of news. But as the event creeps closer on social calenders around the world, we’re getting over our jealousy and instead embracing all that is a fashionable night. For those of you still unfamiliar with the grandiose event, on September 10th cities around the world (cities where an edition of Vogue is published) are hosting a one-night only shopping extravaganza. In New York, 700 stores are staying open until 11pm, Anna Wintour will be at Macys in Queens (yes, Queens), Alexander Wang’s limited edition Fashion’s Night Out shirt will be on sale, 250 models including Coco Rocha and Chanel Iman will be stationed around the city, Zac Posen will be painting inside Bergdorf’s windows, Andre Leon Talley will host a fashion game with Donna Karen and the Olsen twins are teaching shoppers how to knit, plus expect appearances by countless celebs including P. Diddy, The Misshapes, Cindy Crawford, Hugh Jackman, the list goes on - all in the effort to boost retails sales around the world. If those aren’t good enough reasons to buy a ticket to New York for the day, we don’t know what is! Porter Airlines here we come!
