After surviving the chaos of last week’s Matthew Williamson for H&M launch, we wondered how the guys and gals of Tokyo would fare with today’s arrival of their very first Forever 21. According to Tokyo Fashion, the new Harajuku store attracted a long (yet calm) line that stretched around the block, but was noticeably shorter than the line of shoppers that waited next door last winter for the opening of H&M’s Harajuku store. Not that the shorter line really means much in Tokyo since it’s clear by the pics that an army of shoppers were eagerly waiting to be let into the 5-storey store. We caught a video on Fuji News Network showing highlights of the opening, but since we don’t speak Japanese all we could really interpret were the happy smiles on Japanese shoppers as they calmly walked through the store entrance and gave high fives to the sales associates. We think we could stand to learn a thing or two about shopping etiquette from the Japanese!
