Bold Satins, Brilliant Patents
Instant Update: Crayola-colored accessories
It's nearing the end of August. The summer heat is still in full effect. You've spent the past month ogling over the fall fashion spreads in September's Vogue and Elle (admit it, you left drool marks on the pages) in anticipation for a sudden mercury plummet on your thermometer. If you are like us, your wardrobe is dictated by the weather: no sense in splurging on your fall wardrobe when you can't wear it for another month. So what are we budget-conscious, style-minded gals to do when we are itching for some rejuvenation to our lackluster summer leftovers but can't yet bring ourselves to buy chunky knits and ankle booties when the temperature outside dictates otherwise? Why, accessorize of course!
Add a pop of color to your late-summer/early-fall wardrobe with a satin or patent rainbow-hued accessory. Fall 2007's runways were blaring with color, a nice change from this seaon's grey monopoly. The new colors of the season are breathing life into a season predominantly associated with drab and sombre color stories. The material of choice: patents and satins. Jewel-toned satins and eye-popping patents were on the feet and in the arms of models adorned in equally as colorful ensembles. Look to your little sis' box of Crayolas for inspiration and add an instant color update.
