What are little girls made of?
Growing up, we were never the kind of girls made of sugar and spice and all that was nice. As kids, we were the source of our mother's daily frustration as she tried, unsuccessfully, to treat us as her real-live Barbie doll, complete with black patent Mary Janes, ruffly dresses and matching bows. The few times she was able to pin us down long enough to subject our pigtails to a few yards of pink satiny ribbon, we yanked out the bows the minute she turned her back. Shirley Temple we were not! Somewhere between 2nd grade and the Spring 2008 runway shows we grew up, realized that dressing like a woman was actually quite fun and much to our mother's delight, we've even learned to love bows.

This spring, with the help of some designer inspriation, we're making up for those lost years of early feminity. Instead of running away from all things girly, we're following in the footsteps of some of our favorite designers and flocking towards garments and accessories decorated with bows. The only downside is watching our mothers gloat with that "I told you so" grin.
