Save the Planet!
(New Year's Resolution #2)
Ok, now that we've sort of mastered our first new year's resolution (yes, we bought cute workout wear and no, we have yet to join a gym), we're moving onto our second resolution for 2009: buy more environmentally-friendly fashions!

With mega designers like Stella McCartney and John Patrick plus models like Lauren Bush drawing attention to the need for sustainable fashion, we figure it's about time for us to start dressing for our planet. We've been avid recyclers and composters for years, we never leave any lights burning (our father drilled that into our head at a young age) and we always rely on our bicycle in the summer and public transit in the winter, yet we're embarassed to admit we've never thought about embracing more sustainable fashions...until now.

After a thorough Internet search, we discovered that eco-chic fashions could be, well, chic. Gone are the "granola" stereotypes and baggy hemp pants and instead designers and retailers are coming up with more novel and stylish ways to save the planet. From recycled plastic jelly sandals, organic cotton tees, sustainably harvested wood sunglasses and vegan leather, we've found tons of fashions and accessories that will leave you looking chic while helping to alleviate your conscience. Even though we admit environmentally fashions aren't the cheapest fashions around, we think it's a small price to pay to save planet Earth.
