She's Got Flare
How to wear spring's newest silhouette, weather permitting Dear Mr. Weatherman, Every morning when we wake up, before we brush our teeth or have our coffee or even make a trip to the bathroom, we rush into our living room, remote in hand and eagerly turn to our favorite channel, The Weather Network. Every morning for the month of March we have hoped and prayed that today would be the day: the day you would bring us the wonderful news that the snow would melt, the sun would shine and the temperature would remain above zero for longer than a few hours; in other words the day it would actually start to feel like spring. Oh Mr. Weatherman, how you have tortured us this season with your forecasts of snow, sleet and a mercury reading that refuses to rise (whatever happened to global warming??). Your deflating prediction of several more weeks of winter has us stuck in our skinny jeans and knee-high boots with no end in sight! While we realize we do look cute in this ensemble, we've been wearing it since October and it's starting to get stale. When Mr. Weatherman, will you share with us the joyous news that we can shed off our winter uniform and run outside in Spring 2008's hottest silhouette, the Flared Skirt? In our rush to start the spring season, we have already purchased several versions of the flared skirt (mini, knee-length and calf-length) in a rainbow of colors and prints, but your morning forecasts have left them hanging in our closet, tags uncut, feeling rejected and unloved. While we know you may laugh at this letter and think to yourself, don't these girls have anything better to do with their time than complain to me about the weather (we can assure you, we don't), think of us the next time you go on air with your 7-day forecast. Show our flared skirts some love and let us know when we can cut off their tags, slide on some pumps (minus the black tights) and gallop merrily out the door without jumping over a snowbank. With love, Stylehog.com PS: Call us if you ever need any style advice. Those suits are looking a little tired! |
