One on One
We've never put too much stock into the statement "You get what you pay for" (we've worked as a buyer, we know wholesale prices!!). If you really did get what you pay for, pre-ripped jeans would be free (instead of
$229 for Current Elliott's ripped Boyfriend Jean), mini skirts would retail for the same price as a corset belt (they use practically the same amount of material), and one-shoulder dresses would cost about half as much as a dress with two straps (you're only getting half the support!).
This holiday season, since we're not in control of setting prices, we can at least choose how much to spend on holiday-appropriate dresses, in particular the hottest dress silhouette of the season, the one shoulder dress. Seen on the runways of Lanvin, Balmain, Calvin Klein and Versace for Fall/Winter 2008 and on the red-carpets gracing such celebs as Blake Lively, Kate Walsh, Selma Hayek, and Beyonce, the one shoulder dress is the only dress style we're hunting for this holiday.
Keeping in mind the motto "You get what you pay for", all of the one shoulder dresses we found above are not only affordable and red-carpet worthy, they're all less than $360. With dresses made of slinky silks and rich jacquards featuring accents of fantastic bows, pyramid sequins and fabulous ruffles, we think we're actually getting more than we paid for this holiday!
