In case you haven’t heard, there is a huge military trend happening in fashion for Spring 2010. But sometimes a girl wants to wear khaki without looking like she’s heading to war and for that we turn to Burberry, Chloe and Louis Vuitton. For Spring 2010, these designers showed off the softer side to khaki – think more girl scout, less GI. From ruffled trenches and khaki skirts to wrapped canvas sandals and canvas belts, we found our favorite khaki pieces inspired by their runways but with pricetags we all can afford.
1) Ruffle Trench – $132 Oasis
We knew when we saw Burberry’s Spring 2010 collection that everyone and their brother would be doing a ruffled/ruched trench come spring. This ruffle front trench by Oasis is by far our favorite. It echos the silhouette of a classic trench yet has the ruffle detail that is so spring 2010.

2) Box Pleat Skirt – $19.99 Old Navy
Chloe’s girl scout chic look for Spring 2010 of course included an A-line khaki skirt. This one from Old Navy is a steal for under $20!

3) Sack Booties – $110 Topshop
Just like Burberry’s trenches, Chloe’s canvas wrapped sandals were sure to be a fave amongst retailers looking to do the look for less. That’s why we were thrilled when we spotted Topshop’s version for only $110. They may not have the wedge heel, but we say they are pretty darn close!

4) Luxe Tote – $316.24 Karen Millen at ASOS
We never need an excuse to buy a new handbag, especially one that isn’t black! In our attempt to give our black handbags a rest this spring, we’re investing in some equally luxe leather purses in colors more appropriate for warmer temperatures, just like this leather tote from Karen Millen.![]()
5) Canvas Belt – $283.50 Stella McCartney at Matches
Because every girl knows that you don’t have to stick with the belt the trench came with! Even though this canvas belt by Stella McCartney maybe a little out of our budget we figure if we wear it everyday wrapped around our trench coat, that would justify its extra large price tag.
