Sometimes we need more than a mirror to make sure that what we’ve got on for a night out is a cohesive and a complete look. It usually takes the loving and gentle eye of our moms, best friends and sometimes we even drag it out of our guy friends to assure us that we look perfect before we work the room. After watching Tim Gunn on Project Runway and then on Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, we thought what a perfect person to run our outfits by, warning us that we look like a “hot mess” before we embarass ourselves. Unfortunetly, the celebrities on the red carpet will not be warned beforehand of their hot mess-ness since ABC announced that Tim Gunn will be co-hosting the official Academy Awards pre-show “Oscar’s Red Carpet 2009″.  They’ll all have to suffer Tim Gunn’s  brutally honest opinion on the red carpet and we have a feeling he’ll be telling Mickey Rouke to “carry on”. And judging from Rouke’s recent award show track record, he will definitely be on Gunn’s Hot Mess List 2009. At least this year the red carpet fashion will be judged by someone who knows a thing or two about fashion,  forcing celebrities to ‘make it work’.
