WWD is reporting that no successor will be named to replace Martin Margiela at his namesake line, Maison Martin Margiela. “We want to stay avante-garde and provocative, but without a new creative director,” said Giovanni Pungetti, chief executive officer of Maison Martin Margiela. “It’s a challenge. We know this. We will probably make mistakes, but the most important thing is to learn from them.” Previously we had reported that Haider Ackermann was being tapped as the new creative director of the house but it seems MMM went another way. At least they’re not resorting to Hollywood (Ungaro, we’re talking to you) like some other houses have!
