We started our day flipping through all the red carpet pics of glamorous celebrities from last night’s Golden Globe Award. The dresses were beautiful, of course, but what we couldn’t get over was how young Demi Moore is looking these days!

After discussing several potential theories on how she’s retained her flawless figure, wrinkle-free skin and general good looks (She is God reincarnated. She bathes in silicone. Ashton traded her in for a Stepford Wife robot version 25.0), we’ve settled on the theory that she has made a deal with Satan to reverse her aging process in exchange for the youth and beauty of her first born daughter, Rumer Willis (not unlike the plot of Dorian Gray). Because it seems unnatural that Demi can look absolutely fantastic at her age while her 20-something daughter looks like she drew the short straw from the beauty gene pool.

After last year’s writer’s strike meant no Golden Globes, Sunday night they were were back and looking more like the Oscars, judging by the red carpet at least. In the past the Golden Globes have been the the low-key sister to the Oscars, meaning celebrities often use the Globes as a way to test the couture waters until the Oscars. But this year, everyone appeared to up the glamor! Perhaps it was to lift the world’s spirits during this rough go in the financial sector, assuring everyone to look for the silver lining. Or a preemptive celebration for president-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration later this month or perhaps just to to make up for the photo-ops lost from last year’s red-carpet absence. But whatever the reason, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Question: Hi! First off…LOVE YOU! A quick question: it is currently the month of January, so the middle of the winter. Going along with the whole “don’t wear white after Labor Day”, can you wear a white dress after Labor Day? The outfit would be a white dress with black buttons, wearing with it a black belt, black tights and black pumps. Is this okay?

Many people in the fashion world are questioning and challenging the old custom of abondaning white after Labr Day, especially since the custom is rooted in nothing more than popular fashion etiquette. After doing some research as to the origins of this fashion taboo, there is no clear pinpoint answer or reason; however the etiquette originally stated that white shoes were the taboo while white or “winter white” clothes were acceptable.

Since the “rule” of not wearing white after Labor Day has no specific reason, the fashion industry has been pushing the boundary of white. This past fall runway season designers like John Galliano, Chloé, Sonia Rykiel, Celine, Giambattista Valli, Costume National and Emanuel Ungaro all featured white day dresses in their collections. So if you are comfortable pushing the social and fashion norms, go ahead and wear your white and black accented outfit!
