The blogosphere exploded this past week with rumours that Anna Wintour’s contract was about to expire and she was actually planning to leave her throne at Vogue after 20 years with the fashion bible. Somewhere between Monday and Thursday, the rumour grew and grew, until the word on the street was that Anna was leaving Vogue for the White House! While we were busy trying to figure out what kind of position Anna could possibly have in Obama’s cabinet, The Cut got down to the bottom of the story on Friday and actually asked Ms. Wintour herself. Even though her response was less than pleasant (”Just go away” was the exact quote out of Anna’s mouth), she still didn’t deny the charge that she was leaving her post at Vogue.
MSN however spook to Anna’s reps who said “It’s totally not true” when questionned on whether Anna was ditching the magazine world for a spot with the President. Her reps also insist that Anna has absolutely no plans to leave Vogue at this time. Our sympathies go out to Vogue interns and clackers.
