Having worked as an assistant buyer for a major sunglass distributor, we have to admit we get pretty pumped whenever a new sunglass style sweeps the fashion world. We fell in love with anything white back in 2007, had a field day with Ray-Ban’s rebirth last season and for 2010 we can’t get enough of the cat eye sunglass. As spotted on the Spring/Summer 2010 runways of Sonia Rykiel and Jason Wu and on Olivia Palermo (she’s wearing Christian Dior’s ‘Zelli’ style), Kate Moss and Scarlett Johansson (in a pair of Tom Ford ‘Nikita’ shades), the cat eye sunglass has officially become the shade of the season. As much as we love the latest sunglass trends, we also hate to commit a big chunk of change to a style that we may only wear for three months. That’s where Mango’s version of the cat eye comes in. We can justify spending $15 on a pair of sunglasses that may have a shorter shelf life than a box of Life cereal.
2) SPEND – $134.95 by D&G at Sunglass Hut
We can justify spending $135 on D&G’s DD3046 shades because their slightly understated cat eye shape and solid black frame mean we’ll be revisiting these in seasons to come.
3) SPLURGE – $377.85 by Tom Ford at My Wardrobe
