After several season of neon message tees, baggy sweaters and oversized blazers, we thought we were finally over the 80's. How many seasons can a girl wear a chunky knit cardigan over black leggings with a pair of slouchy boots without feeling like she permanently belonged in a John Hughes movie? Designers however are still feeling the 80's vibe, but this time it was the glam punk of the earlier part of the decade that they gravitated towards. Black leather leggings were everywhere this season as designers looked to the original punk crusaders for inspiration from Billy Idol to Vivienne Westwood and mixed them with the lame golds and metals of the 1980's club scene. Our must-have piece of the season: a little black motorcycle jacket. We've had ours since fall 2006 and it's looking better than ever.
