Remember that scene in The Devil Wears Prada where Meryl Streep reams out a naive Anne Hathaway for foolishly dismissing the importance of a singular shade of color? And remember how Meryl launches into a monologue on how a color makes it way down the runway one season and onto the store floor of mass retailers a few seasons later? Well for Spring/Summer 2010, the color cycle was on overdrive. According to Derek Lam, Versace, Thakoon, the boys at Proenza Schouler and Pantone (the global authority on color), turquoise (or Pantone #15-5519) is the official color of Spring/Summer 2010. Seen on almost every major runway show this season, turquoise has of course trickled its way down to the mass market and has infiltrated retailers everywhere.
